As the 4th of July weekend draws near, many people in the Long Beach are planning to barbecue and take in some local fireworks.
In case you don’t already have plans in place, here are some local options:
Aquarium BBQ and Fireworks - Enjoy the Aquarium at night and get a great view of the fireworks. Combo tickets include admission to the aquarium plus an Independence Day B-B-Q buffet. When: July 4, 5:00 – 10:00 pm Dinner 6 – 8 pm, Aquarium opens at 9 am. Where: Aquarium of the Pacific in Long Beach, 320 Golden Shore, Long Beach. Cost: Aquarium Admission is $12.95 for everyone after 5 pm. Regular admission is $24.95 Adult, $12.95 child 3-11, $21.95 seniors, Aquarium plus dinner $35 Adult, $27 Child. Queen Mary BBQ & Fireworks - The Queen Mary will be having an old-fashioned BBQ with Carolina, Texas, Kansas City and St. Louis BBQ represented as well as corn-on-the-cob, baked beans, funnel cake and other non-barbecue favorites. There will be 2 stages of live music, strolling entertainers and a children’s area, culminating in the spectacular 4th of July fireworks show. When: July 3-4 11 am to 9 pm, Fireworks on the 4th at 9:00 pm (DJ on the back of the ship from 7 pm – 11 pm). Where: The Queen Mary, 1126 Queens Highway, Long Beach, CA 90802. Fireworks Display at Long Beach Veteran’s Stadium – The presentation will include demonstrations by the Fire Department; clowns making balloons and giving out flags and concession stands. No alcohol or ice chests allowed. The Long Beach Fire Department Clowns will entertain the crowd, and of course there will be a “Great” Fireworks show, the theme this year is Glory: the voices os America. Gates open at 4:00 P.M. The fireworks display will begin at 9:00 P.M. Tickets will go on sale starting on Saturday, June 25th from 9:00 A.M. to 6:00 P.M. daily until July 4th at Long Beach Fire Station 19, located at 3559 Clark Ave, Long Beach, CA, 90808, for the annual 4th of July Show presented by the Long Beach Fire Department Memorial Association. Tickets will be sold at the stadium starting at 4:00P.M. on the day of the event. Ticket prices are $5 per person and children under 4 free. Parking will be $5.
Long Beach Kids’ July 4th Bike Parade - Children and adults are encouraged to decorate their bikes and themselves for this annual patriotic procession on wheels that takes place on the beach bike path in Long Beach. In addition to the bike parade, the event will include competitions for children 12 and younger, including a Patriotic Oratory Competition (advance submission required), watermelon seed spitting, and patriotic costume contest. . When: 9:15 registration to participate, 10 am parade, followed by competitions

4th of July Celebration in San Pedro
Live music, U.S. military exhibits, tours of a Navy frigate, armed forces, and U.S. Coast Guard demonstrations, displays by the LA City Fire Department’s firefighting boat, and the Washington Artillery Reenactment group followed by fireworks. Independence Day Celebration and Parade in Huntington Beach - A 5K run/walk, bands, clowns, celebrities, floats and fireworks on “Surf City’s” famous Main Street. When: Parade July 4, Festival July 2, 3, 4. Where: Festival at Pier Plaza at Huntington Beach Pier, Parade runs along Main Street from Pacific Coast Highway to Clay Ave. Cost: Free, reserved parade seating and fireworks seating is available for a fee.
